What I Hope This Music Does For You
Every artist hopes their work reaches someone.
Of course I do.
But probably not in the way people expect.
I don't hope you'll remember every lyric.
I don't hope you'll think every song is perfect.
I don't even hope you hear exactly what I intended.
I hope you discover something that belongs to you.
Music has always been deeply personal.
The same song can mean something entirely different to two people listening side by side.
That's part of its beauty.
Once it's released into the world...
It no longer belongs entirely to the person who created it.
It begins living inside the experiences of the people who hear it.
Maybe one song reminds you of someone you've loved.
Maybe another gives you language for something you've never been able to explain.
Maybe another simply sits quietly beside you during a difficult season.
If that happens...
The music has become something larger than itself.
That's all I could ever ask.
Not admiration. Connection.
If these songs help you feel a little less alone...
Then they've already succeeded.
